As Congress works to finalize both a Fiscal Year 2023 appropriations package and tax extenders package, we must make sure that resources for home affordability remains at the top of mind for members. The demand for affordable, safe, and healthy homes still outweighs the available supply, causing many families to face extremely difficult choices.
To increase affordable housing supply so everyone has the opportunity to own a home, we must support existing vital housing and community development federal programs in the appropriations package and the passage of the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act. This bipartisan bill would revitalize distressed neighborhoods by using federal income tax credits to spur investments for building and rehabilitating homes for low- and moderate- income homeowners. Please email your federal policymakers to urge them to support these top policy priorities of the Cost of Home campaign in any end-of-year budget or tax legislation. Let's continue raising our voices to improve home affordability for 10 million people.
We encourage you to personalize your message. Share with your members of Congress why they need to invest in housing to help your community they represent.
